Lady Trojans hold off Hiram

The Carrollton High School softball team hung on for a 4-3 region win over Hiram on Tuesday evening to improve to 6-1 overall on the season and 3-0 in 7-AAAAA play.

The Lady Trojans received a complete-game effort from Olivia Fannin in the circle, as the junior right-hander struck out 11 Lady Hornet hitters in the process.

Offensively, Montana Dallas went 3-for-4, while Allie Threadgill (2-for-3) also had a multiple-hit performance and Kate Albertus (1-for-2, 2 RBI) came through with a big base knock.

Carrollton returns to action on Thursday with a trip to East Paulding. First pitch is set for 5:55 p.m.

Carrollton JV 12, Bowdon 1: The Lady Trojans (1-0) received a strong effort all-around with Olivia Mason earning the win in the circle with a one-hit performance, while the offense was powered by Emma Osborne with three hits and Amira Johnson (1-for-3, 2B) as Carrollton made quality contact up and down the lineup.
