Opening a critical week of region play, the Carrollton High School boys' soccer team captured a 3-0 victory over rival Villa Rica on Tuesday night at Sam McIntyre Stadium.

The No. 3 Trojans (8-2, 4-0 Region 7-AAAAA) scored the only goal of the first half on a penalty kick from Melquin Juarez and Damean Dominguez scored with roughly 15 minutes left in the match to push the score to 2-0. Marvin Gomez sealed the deal with a goal five minutes later off a Juarez assist.

Carrollton hosts fourth-ranked Rome (9-2, 4-0) on Friday night in a match that will more than likely determine the region champion.
